In the November edition of SysNotes, we had an article about the Volvo Ocean Race and the Ericsson Racing Team. Festool is the official power tool supplier of the Ericsson Racing Team and has participated in the world's most demanding ocean race, the Volvo Ocean Race, since 1997. We thought we would update you on the status of the race as it nears its arrival in Boston, Massachusetts and tell you a little more about Festool's involvement in the marine industry. At the time of this writing, the two Ericsson boats are in first and fourth place in the overall standings. Go Team Ericsson!

Discovery Channel recently began airing its newest hit series, Doing DaVinci. The Doing DaVinci team takes some of the revolutionary designs of Leonardo da Vinci and constructs them. These designs were, without doubt, far beyond their time and it's definitely interesting to see these fascinating machines come to life. Interestingly, there is no record of these machines having ever been constructed before now.

And the winner is...

 

If you've been on the fence about which plunge saw and guide rail system is the best, wait no longer. Recently, Woodworker's Journal, the Journal of Light Construction, and Fine Woodworking have written articles featuring a head-to-head comparison of the options available. In all instances, the editors chose the Festool TS plunge cut saw and guide rail system to offer the best performance and value.

Chris Marshall, Field Editor for Woodworker's Journal, said, "Without question, it's Festool", when choosing the 'Best Bet' winner in the genre of power tools.
