Popcorn removal with the Planex.

Scott Montgomery is a contractor in Saskatchewan and he recently shared a couple of first person videos showing the Festool Planex Drywall Sander in action. Check out the video showing the Planex removing popcorn ceiling or a second video showing it finish sanding drywall.

He replaced his Porter Cable (PC) 7800 with the Planex and CT AutoClean. In his words over atdrywalltalk.com, a forum dedicated to the art of drywall, he says, "Ok, this sander is awesome". Here are some of Scott's other comments on using the Planex...

"This is a 9' basement and was way easier with the Festool than the PC. The ceiling was easier cause the head actually articulates so I didn't have to hold the sander over my head (I was even able to sand the ceiling without the extension after playing around with the vac and speed settings) and I was able to get in tight spots like closets with it cause of the articulating head and the length without the extension, I was able to sand this whole basement other than the points of the angles with the Planex. The AutoClean vac did what they claimed as well, no noticeable loss of suction for the whole job, and no bag!"

In this well produced video documentary, they rescue a 100 year old flagpole on top of one of Portland's historic buildings, the Yeon Building. The decades old fir is sawn, turned and crafted into a exquisite table which now resides inside of the building it once stood on looking over the city. After a run through the stationary drum sander, Malachi meticulously finish sands it with the Rotex RO 150.
