This month, SysNotes readers get a peak at some of the cool Festool wares that the professional remodelers and woodworkers saw in January at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas.   In addition to great demos that focused on sanding, sawing, drilling, routing, and trim carpentry, visitors were able to see some of our new products coming out this spring.  The new Parallel Guide, EHL 65 E one-handed planer, and T+3 Lithium Ion cordless drill sets created great anticipation for their availability later this year.

Dreams Do Come True At IWF.

Festool exhibited at the International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair (IWF) 2008 in Atlanta, GA on August 20-23rd. We had thousands of people visit our booth and there was a lot to be seen. There were seven demo stations showcasing all of our major tools, including the newest products, the Kapex sliding compound miter saw, MFK 700 trim router, OF 2200 router and MFT/3 multifunction table. Marc Spagnuolo, ‘The Wood Whisperer’, also demonstrated the Festool tools at the booth Wednesday and Thursday.

A few weeks ago, I pitched the idea of a new way for Festool fans to connect... "Festool Fests". These would be regional gatherings of Festool users that would give you the opportunity to meet other woodworkers and enjoy great eats, conversation and tools. What better way to learn about techniques and share knowledge? Our sincere thanks to those who are willing to open their shops and host the first Festool Fests.
