Register now to attend Festool Connect 2015!

Register to attend Festool Connect at JLC Live in Providence, RI on Thursday, March 19th, from 9:00am – 4:00pm EST. This will be a great opportunity for us to, well, connect with you personally — away from the hustle and bustle of the JLC LIVE clinics and exhibits. You'll be our guest as we host a day of learning, socializing and, of course, demonstrating several of the new products we're introducing in the coming months. This is an exclusive event for Festool enthusiasts only, the day before the JLC Live show.

Important note: we are changing to a new venue this year for Festool Connect 2015. We will be at Dunkin Donuts Center, which is adjacent to the Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) where we hosted Festool Connect in previous years.

I don't live anywhere near Rhode Island, so why am I getting this?! Well, we've had attendees from as far away as Alaska at previous Festool Connect events. So, we want to give everyone the chance to attend. Also, we want to let you know you can view the event online on March 19th if you can't make it. More information on the live video stream will come as we near the event date.

What will I see and do at Festool Connect?

We'll begin the day at 9:00 am in the Dunkin Donuts Center, with high-impact clinics by industry professionals. You'll see live demonstrations and learn about tools and techniques to take back to the shop. And we'll have Festool staff on hand all day to answer your questions. At noon, we'll treat you to a nice lunch and have some time to kick back and mingle. In the afternoon we'll provide some refreshments between clinics. You may even get a sneak peek at some new tools. Sounds fun, right?!

And, because we appreciate you registering and attending Festool Connect, you'll not only be treated to lunch, but you'll receive a complimentary pass to the JLC LIVE exhibit hall for March 20th-21th, as well as free Festool swag. As if THAT wasn't enough, you'll also be entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win Festool prizes. You must be present to win and at least 18 years of age. Festool employees, dealers, and affiliates are not eligible to win.

Want to know more about JLC Live?

JLC Live is one of the premier woodworking shows of the year and we'll be there on March 20th-21st at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence. It's your opportunity to check out some of the amazing new tools that we will introduce in 2015, watch product demonstrations, attend our workshops, and meet us in person.

Be our guest and register now for your free exhibition hall pass. Swing by and see us at Booth #916 and enter our sweepstakes for a chance to win some awesome Festool prizes!

Thousands of residential construction professionals from across the East Coast come to JLC Live to hone their skills, network with exhibiting companies and industry peers, get hands-on training with live building clinics, and attend the educational conference. Festool is proud to be a part of it.

We look forward to seeing you there! For more information, visit http://ne.jlclive.com/.

Some of our favorite videos of 2014

Saturday, December 20, 2014 | Reader Comments | General Information

We thought we would go back through our video archives from the year and pick a few of our favorites to share. But, before we do...

We'd like to thank everyone who participated in our 2014 video contest, including the winner Paul Fuller. And, to let you know to get started on your video because we'll be doing anothervideo contest in 2015 with more great prizes. So, spend some of your holidays in the shop shooting some footage!

Best Video by a Festool Customer:
2014 Video Contest Winner, Paul Fuller

We'll start at the top, with the video selected as the winner of our 2014 video contest by the live audience and viewers of the Festool Connect live video cast.

Our grand prize winner was Paul Fuller of Fuller Banjo for his testimonial video. Paul is a luthier and furniture maker who really appreciates the advantages of Festool sanders and HEPA dust extractors. Did you notice that the bench he's sitting on while giving his comments on Festool is the same bench he's building in the video? Pretty clever.

Of course, the music in the background is him playing one of his instruments. Well done, Paul!

Best Made Up Vocabulary:
Smallerizing it with Ben Riddering

We get asked periodically if the people in our videos are actors, Festool employees or given a script. Not at all. Ben Riddering is a good example of someone just saying what comes to mind while he talks about himself, his company and his family. When we first saw the footage, and heard him talk about "smallerizing," we were sure that others could relate.

Well said, Ben!

Best Use of Useless Timber:
Beetle Kill Pine, Azure Woodworking

Laying waste to countless acres of Colorado forests, the pine beetle has found an unlikely ally in Corbin Clay, owner of Denver based Azure Furniture. Corbin's team takes this Beetle Kill Pine, an otherwise value-less lumber that has be burned off to prevent forest fires, and converts it into heirloom furniture. Listen to his story to see how he finds value where others do not.

Best Analogy Between Marriage and Woodworking:
Sorek Minery, Blue Ridge Woodworks

Sorek Minery of Blue Ridge Woodworks delivered our second place video, showcasing a dark box he built for use in wet plate photography by 179 Pictures. Enjoy this brilliantly produced piece about a man and the tools he uses to put his passion to work. And stick around till the end to hear Sorek's take on how marriage and woodworking can be viewed through the same lens.

Best Over-the-Top Acting & CGI:
Spencer Ratliff, Saving Cats with Festool

You might recognize Spencer as the winner of our 2013 video contest. He impressed our viewers with his quirky sense of humor as well as his video review of the Trion Jigsaw, during which he somehow figures out how to saw through a two-foot thick log. Well, kind of. Since then, he's also made a very nice bookcase and at least one sandwich with the TS 55.

In his latest video installment, his quick reactions save a precious cat from losing one of its nine lives.
