Save time hole drilling 32mm panels.
We've featured Brice Burrell, a carpenter in the Pittsburgh area, in previous editions of SysNotes. Brice continues to find creative ways to use his Festool set up to become more efficient. As you may know, the Parallel Guides can be used with the Festool TS plunge saw and guide rail for quick, repeatable cuts. You may also be familiar with Festool's 32mm hole drilling system and LR-32 guide rail. However, recently Brice published an article on his website that showed how to combine the Festool LR 32 system with the Parallel Guides to create a jig for routing 32mm panels. The advantage of his process is that you no longer have to repeatedly align the guide rail to the panel. Panels of equal size simply slide into the jig and you're ready to rout - no clamping or set up required.
Brice attended one of our end-user training events in April and took some time to share his methodology with us and with other training attendees. It was definitely one of the highlights of the week. With Brice's permission, we recorded his demonstration, which is now available on our YouTube channel. His website article provides additional details with step-by-step instructions.
Thanks to Brice for sharing this innovative use of our products! Be sure to check out the extensive list of great resources on his website using the links below.
