QR Codes

An introduction to QR Codes.

You may have noticed that, for the past year or so, Festool has been putting these weird looking codes on advertisements in magazines, posters in stores and in our catalogs. So what are they and how are they used? They are called QR (Quick Response) Codes and can be scanned by most smartphones, tablet computers and similar devices to take you to a website. This puts the information you're looking for right at your fingertips, quick and convenient.

If you have an iPhone or Android phone, there are plenty of free QR Code scanner apps available, just do a quick search on your app store. Red Laser is one of the more popular free QR Code scanner apps and is available for iPhone and Android phones. Red Laser is also capable of scanning UPC codes for product information and comparison shopping. Once installed, just start the app and point your phone at the code. Your phone will then direct you to a mobile-friendly version of our website to get more information.

QR Codes are becoming more popular in North America and are being used by a lot of manufacturers and retailers to make product information more readily available. Now you know what it is and how to use it.
